Client Spotlight: Marilyn Bredar

Marilyn Bredar

For more than 15 years, PUSH has been a consistent part of Marilyn’s active Colorado lifestyle. From skiing and hiking to salsa dancing and pickleball, she loves staying active — but what keeps her coming back to PUSH is the community, encouragement, and comfort of a place where she truly feels like she belongs.

Tell us about your physical journey before PUSH.

I have been active most of my life, but about 15 years ago, my good friend Sue Johanning, led me to PUSH.  I’ve had a few months away here and there, but really PUSH has been a big part of my workout routine for a very long time.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love to ski, hike, backpack, bike (mountain and road), play pickleball, and my latest passion is Salsa dancing. On the spiritual side, I love to read and learn about philosophy, quantum physics, relationships, and just about anything to vibrate higher in the world.

Are you from Colorado originally?

I was born in the windy town of Laramie, Wyoming but have basically lived in Colorado most of my life.

When did you start coming to PUSH?

What were you looking for when searching for a new gym?  I was first introduced to Jared (a previous PUSH trainer) via my friend Sue Johanning.  We started doing workouts in the park and then eventually moved inside to PUSH  That was the same time that Jared and his wife were expecting twins.  So however old Jared’s twins are is how long I’ve been coming to Push.  Maybe 15-16 years?  At that time I was attending the YMCA body pump workouts, and I really wanted to find something a little different, and Jared’s workouts were different in a really good way.

What keeps you coming to PUSH?

Honestly, what keeps me coming is the ease of just getting in my car and landing at a touchpoint, which also happens to be PUSH.  My hair is a mess, I’m not pulled together at all, and it’s just super easy and comfortable to come to a place that’s void of judgement.  PUSH is simply a comfortable place.  I enjoy all the trainers and their unique classes.  Currently, I’m kind of loving Forrest’s 7 am workouts.  There’s no better way to start the day than a little razzing and a lot of sweet encouragement from an awesome human!

What are your biggest physical and mental benefits you get from PUSH?

Well….my muscles are always a work in progress, but I’m pretty sure that Push is a big part of how I can still climb a 14er a year, or keep up with my adult kids on the slopes.  Also….. I can honestly say that we all want to belong, and I feel like I belong here, so I keep coming back. It’s a community that feels good.
